Mechanism of Action

Third-generation oral cephalosporin with enhanced stability against beta-lactamases compared to first and second-generation agents. Binds PBP-3. Highly active against H. influenzae (including beta-lactamase strains), Moraxella catarrhalis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Enterobacteriaceae. Poor staphylococcal coverage.
