Mechanism of Action
Third-generation parenteral cephalosporin with exceptional stability against a broad range of beta-lactamases. Binds PBP-1a, PBP-1b, PBP-3. Active against Neisseria meningitidis, H. influenzae, most Enterobacteriaceae, Streptococcus pneumoniae. Long half-life (~8 hours) enables once-daily dosing. High protein binding (~95%) contributes to prolonged serum levels.
